 Satellite Communications has been part of the ESYS capability since the company was founded. ESYS has worked at all points in the project cycle, from requirements capture and feasibility through to prototype development and project management. ESYS has also worked across the industry, from manufacturers to satellite operators to value added service providers.
ESYS has particularly relevant experience in business and market analysis, having undertaken a number of market studies and business case developments for organisations such as ESA, the EU, the Ministry of Defence and several national institutions in Europe. . This has included a series of analyses of the state for the satellite industry for the UK DTI. ESYS has also worked with a number of international satellite operators and manufacturers on new market developments.
ESYS has a strong capability in satellite systems engineering, having worked with EADS Astrium, Alenia, Alcatel on the manufacturing side, ESA, Inmarsat, Paradigm, and SES–Astra on the service provision side. Work has covered technical feasibility, procurement support, detailed design and specification and overall system engineering management.
ESYS has worked on the development of novel applications of satellite communications, in broadband delivery, telemedicine, distance learning and aeronautical communications. This has given ESYS a unique understanding of the viability of satellite business propositions.
